A BIG thank you goes out to Senior Master Reymundo Gonzales, Master Kevin Roberts, Master David Harvey, Master Casey Mibb and the many others who helped organize the 2011 CTF National Test, a great time was had by all. The Holiday Inn Emerald Beach host hotel on the Corpus Christi Bay Front and the Ortiz Convention Center at the Port were excellent choices to hold our event. In general, from beginning to end the event ran very smoothly and on-time. The largest compliment to the testing students and especially the instructors Grandmaster Kang decided our Taekwon-Do standards are high enough for this test we would do away with the remain (fail) result and only have recommended and promotion decisions. Recommend being you can receive your new belt, but, you have to train more and re-test on some material before the certificate is issued. This made for an exciting event ending banquet where Grandmaster Kang and the instructor were able to award each testing student their new belt as they walked across the stage. This years seminars by the testing masters were very informative and innovative, the breaking, form and sparring competitions were high level with a congratulations to the South Texas team for winning the team fights and highly converted CTF Flag. One thing that is very evident is we are a “family” and these national tests are more like a family reunion, some of these bonds go back 30 to 40 years, yes CTF is awesome! Stay tuned, we will be announcing our plans for 2013 soon.
