Master Rianard Jackson 7th dan
Master
Rianard Jackson is currently a 7th degree senior master Black Belt with
CTF and is the CTF advisor for Texas. Master Jackson was introduced to
CTF by Master's Stephen Davis in 1984. Master Jackson as the Director
of Martial Arts Programs for the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation
Dept. played a key role in 1982 in setting up Master Stephen Davis'
first Taekweon-Do class in Corpus Christi. That class led to todays's
large influence and multiple CTF schools in the Corpus Christi area.
Master Jackson's Martial Arts studies started with Judo in 1958 and
has led him to hold many Masters ranks in multiple Martial Art styles.
He was inducted into the Karate Hall of Fame in 1988, Kami Aikido Hall
of Fame and Judo Hall of Fame in 1990.
Master Bob Davis 7th Dan
Master Bob Davis is the other half of Davis Brothers Tae Kwon Do. Bob Davis started training in 1970. The Tae Kwon Do class was held in Norristown, PA. and followed to the Conshocken School where he trained with Fred Destolfo and many others. In 1975 Bob Davis and Stephen Davis started their own Tae Kwon Do school in East Norriton, PA. Mr. Steve Davis as the head instructor and Bob Davis as the manager, Bob Davis started the Norristown Karate Club in 1978 with Harry Plichta. In 1982 Mr. Bob Davis moved to McAllen Texas and started Bob Davis Tae Kwon do and Mr. Stephen Davis moved to Corpus Christi Texas. Thus the Davis Brothers spread C.T.F. Tae Kwon Do in Texas. Mr. Bob Davis was named Regional Director for the United Martial Arts Association in 1983 and was inducted into the International Karate Hall of Fame in 1988. Master Bob Davis helped establish the Chin Mu Kwan Black Belt League (CBL) with Master Rianard Jackson, Master Charles Harris, Master Reymundo Gonzalez and Mr. Rene Garcia in 1992 and the C.T.F. Texas State Championships Tae Kwon Do circuit. Master Bob Davis has hosted Tae Kwon Do tournaments for the last 22 years. In 1994 Master Bob Davis started Karate Kids of America "Just Say No To Drugs and Gangs Program" in McAllen, Texas, a 501 C non-profit organization. The program rewards at risk students for positive behavior. Master Bob Davis pioneered Tae Kwon Do as a Physical Education requirement at a private school the Oratory Academy and at the University of Texas Pan American. Master Bob Davis has hosted the C.T.F. National Testing and Events several times and is the C.T.F. Regional Director for South Texas. Over the years Master Bob Davis has trained in many styles and holds many ranks. He is dedicated however to spreading C.T.F. Tae Kwon Do throughout the state of Texas. His Black Belts and Masters already operate C.T.F. schools in many Texas cities.
Master Harry W. Plichta 7th Dan
Harry W. Plichta started his martial arts training in 1976.
He received his 1st degree black belt under the instruction of Mr. Stephen &
Bob Davis in Pennsylvania. After receiving his first degree black belt he took
over the school in Norristown founded in 1978 and then the East Norriton school
founded in 1976, when the Davis brothers moved to Texas. He created Norristown
Area Taekwon-Do (NAT) when he unified the two schools under his instruction.
Both schools were founded by the Davis brothers. Plichta began to study Chinese
martial arts and holds black belt in, Chinese Kenpo, and over 25 years of study
in Shaolin Kun Tao Kung Fu, where he was certified in Chinese weapons. He also
is an instructor in Tai Chi. Varied in martial arts he also teaches and
studies fencing. His Japanese martial study was under the tutelage of Master
Rianard Jackson which includes Kendo, Aikido and Jyodo. He also studied
naginata. Plichta teaches self-defense, Chin Mu Kwan Taekwon-Do and other
martial arts at Eastern University in St. Davids. He has a Masters of Science
degree in Kinesiology from West Chester University where he explored the western
scientific principles of the eastern martial arts. Master Plichta is active in
the church and community and runs, plans and assists in many programs for youth
and adults. NAT is active in raising funds to help find the cure for ALS, Lou
Gherig's Disease. It has helped raise over $3,500.
Master Lenny Young 7th Dan
Master Lenny Young began his training under Master Fred
DeStolfo in the mid 70's at Lock Haven University. In 2009 he was promoted to
his current rank of 7th Dan. Master Young has himself promoted over 80 of his
students to Black Belt with many beyond 1st Dan and three to Master Instructor.
He has competed in sparring, forms, breaking and weapons on the east and west
coasts winning many 1st places along with several Grand Championships. Master
Young has been hosting two tournaments a year since 1984. In 1980 he was awarded
"Best Student of the Year" by Master Chong Lee while living in Los Angeles.
Other awards received were "Outstanding Young Fitness Leader" by the
Pennsylvania Jaycees, P.E.P.P.A. (Public Education Partners Promoters Award) by
the Bellefonte Area School Dist. and inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall
of Fame. In 1991 Grand Master Kang appointed him Regional Director of C.T.F. He
has done countless demos and clinics for charities and civic groups. Since 1984
he has been an Assistant Instructor for the C.T.F. regional summer camp. He has
traveled the United States for seminars in Tae Kwon Do as well as other martial
arts. Most recently, Master Young taught a club defense seminar at the C.T.F.
nationals in McAllen, Texas. Since 1980, he owns and operates Young's Tae Kwon
Do in Bellefonte, PA. Every year, Young grants a $100.00 scholarship to any
graduating senior from his alma mater, Bellefonte High School, who best exhibits
the tenets of Tae Kwon Do.
Master David Burns 7th Dan
David Burns began studying Tae Kwon Do in 1974 under Master Fred DeStolfo of
Philadelphia. He received his first-degree Black Belt in 1977. In 2002 David was
awarded the rank of sixth-degree Black Belt from Grandmaster Yon Ho Kang and the
International Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation (CTF). From 1975-91 he was a
successful competitor winning numerous championships in the categories of form,
weapons, sparring, self-defense and breaking. He founded Burns Tae Kwon
Do in 1980 and operated it continuously for 25 years. David retired from active
teaching in 2005, selling his martial art and fitness business to his student,
Master Nathan Morgan. David also trained in the Korean Martial Art of Kuk
Sool and holds a Black Belt (1987), under Master Byung Sup Ma of Chicago. In
1987, he traveled to Korea with Master Ma, training in martial arts schools and
receiving instruction from Korean masters. He continues his personal training
with his teacher Master DeStolfo, and by participation in martial arts, fitness
and self-defense training courses throughout the country.David's instructional training includes a degree from Lock Haven State
College (B. S. Ed. '77). That same year he began studying martial arts
instruction methods with Master DeStolfo and began teaching in the Lock Haven
State Karate Club. He continued practicing and teaching and in 1989 was
certified as a Master Instructor by the CTF. He is also an instructor at the
annual CTF training camps and in 1991 was appointed CTF Regional Director by
Grandmaster H. Y. Kang. David currently serves as regional advisor for the CTF.
He is also a certified instructor with the American Council on Martial Arts
(ACMA) and the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research. David continues to extend the personal development lessons of Tae Kwon Do to
a wider audience by incorporating these lessons into his work as a professional
speaker and business-skills trainer.
